Ben Tour (b. 1977) is a Toronto-born artist whose work channels a dark, often haunting sense of humanism. Drawing from close observation and personal experience, his paintings explore the tension between representation and distortion—capturing the essence of a subject while reimagining it through an expressive and intuitive lens.
Characterized by frenetic linework, layered colour, and intimate perspectives, Tour's compositions evoke both psychological depth and emotional immediacy. His work suggests narratives that feel at once personal and universal, blurring the boundary between observed reality and internal experience.
Tour has exhibited internationally, including at Joshua Liner Gallery in New York, Fifty24SF in San Francisco, and BLK/MRKT in Los Angeles. His work has been featured in publications such as Juxtapoz and Playboy, and he has collaborated with brands including BMW, Absolut Vodka, Nike, and Burton Snowboards. He currently lives and works on the Sunshine Coast, British Columbia.
